Agricultural workers face penalties due to increases in commodity prices
The Belarusian government has announced a new law imposing fines for shortages of potatoes in stores. This decision comes after an investigation by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, which revealed that several farms will face penalties for overpricing potatoes.
Under the new law, individuals found guilty of potato shortages in stores face fines ranging from 5 to 12 basic units. For legal entities, the fines are more severe, ranging from 20 to 200 basic units. The Council of Ministers has also been tasked with taking other necessary measures to implement the provisions of the new law.
The Ministry of Trade of Belarus has been commissioned to amend various legal regulations within one month to facilitate the implementation of these fines. One such amendment concerns OOO "Azbuka Snakov," which will pay a fine of 10% of the cost of the goods transported, or Br2,776.85.
The Economic Court of Minsk Region has made a decision regarding OOO "Azbuka Snakov," and the case materials have been sent to the Committee of State Control. Meanwhile, CTPUP "DarStroyTorg" has been fined more than Br1,150 under part 4 of Article 13.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
Another farm, OOO "EcoFruitLand," and 210 officials will have to pay more than Br5,500 according to a decision by the Economic Court of Minsk. The fines imposed on the farms are a percentage of the monetary evaluation of the transaction.
The new law also includes fines for the absence of potatoes in sales at a procurement point during the off-season. Some changes have been made to the Procedural-Executive Code to accommodate these new penalties.
Interestingly, an analysis of the reasons for the change in potato prices by the farm 'Romanenko Andrei Vladimirovich' revealed a violation of the registration procedure for sales prices.
The new law on fines for shortages of potatoes in stores has been announced after its publication. It is part of the broader National Internet Portal, which includes fines for not supplying or under-supplying fruit and vegetable products under a supply contract from stabilization funds for republican state needs.
This move by the Belarusian government aims to ensure a stable supply of potatoes in stores and maintain fair pricing for consumers. The Economic Court of Minsk Region has made several decisions in this regard, including the smallest fine among the farms, which remains unspecified.
The Council of Ministers has been instructed to bring various legislative acts into line with the new law within a month. This will further solidify the government's commitment to enforcing these new penalties and maintaining a well-stocked market for consumers.
