All-Wheel Drive 2026 Subaru Impreza Hatchbacks Come with Sport and RS Variants
The new 2026 Subaru Impreza is set to make its debut this fall, with two exciting trims available: the Sport and the RS. The base model, Impreza Base, has been discontinued, raising the starting price of the lineup by approximately $2,260 compared to the 2025 models.
Pricing
The 2026 Subaru Impreza Sport starts at $27,790, while the Impreza RS begins at $30,690. These prices include destination and delivery charges.
Engines and Performance
The Impreza Sport is powered by a 2.0-liter direct-injection SUBARU BOXER engine, producing 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the RS model features a 2.5-liter BOXER engine with 180 hp, providing better low-RPM responsiveness. Both trims use a Lineartronic Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and an 8-speed manual mode.
Standard Features
The Impreza Sport comes equipped with Subaru's award-winning EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, the Subaru 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system, six speakers, SiriusXM with 360L (4-month trial), and Travel Link (4-month trial). New for 2026 is Auto Vehicle Shutdown, which turns off the engine after 30 minutes of idling.
Safety is enhanced with standard EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, including Emergency Lane Keep Assist (on models with Blind-Spot Detection and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert), which helps steer to avoid crashes when merging between 37 and 90 mph. The RS model also boasts exclusive 18-inch wheels and unique interior trims.
Additional Safety and Mechanical Features
All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is standard on both models. Both trims include Lane Centering, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Collision Mitigation, Driver Monitoring, and multiple airbags. Mechanical features include a full-time AWD system, electric power-assist steering, anti-roll bars, disc brakes with ABS, hill hold control, electric parking brake, and advanced suspension components for improved handling and ride.
Impreza RS Features
The Impreza RS features a 2.5-liter BOXER engine, upgraded LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels in a dark gray finish, LED steering-responsive headlights, and signature "RS" badging. The interior includes premium black sport cloth upholstery with red stitching, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Welcome Lighting.
An option package for the Impreza RS adds a Harman Kardon® 10-speaker system, Power Moonroof, and a 10-way power-adjustable front seat with lumbar support for an additional $2,070.
Colour Options
A new premium paint option, Citron Yellow Pearl, is available across all trims.
