Allianz UK Joins Forces with Sainsbury's Bank in Partnership

Allianz UK and Sainsbury's Bank have announced a strategic partnership that will see Allianz UK providing replacement home and motor insurance policies to existing Sainsbury’s Bank customers as their current policies come up for renewal, starting from November 1, 2025.

This agreement marks a significant step in Allianz UK's strategy to grow its presence in the UK retail insurance sector. The partnership will allow Allianz UK to expand its reach through Sainsbury’s Bank's customer base, aligning with Allianz’s strategy to grow its distribution network and footprint in retail insurance.

Sainsbury’s Chief Financial Officer, Bláthnaid Bergin, expressed pleasure about the new agreement. She highlighted the importance of working with partners who share the same values and a strong customer orientation, which Allianz UK exemplifies as a leading and experienced insurer.

Both organizations share a customer-focused vision based on simplicity, digital innovation, and value. This partnership underscores their shared values of customer focus and experience, digital efficiency, and simplified, straightforward service. Both Allianz UK and Sainsbury's Bank are committed to providing high-quality, seamless experiences for customers and have a mutual priority on evolving their offerings in a way that benefits the customer.

In another development, Allianz Partners UK has been selected by Lloyds Banking Group to underwrite and administer its travel insurance offering. This travel insurance contract represents a significant broadening of their commercial relationship. Allianz Partners UK is already supplying home emergency cover to Lloyds Banking Group customers, and with this new contract, they will provide a new added-value benefit for home insurance customers through a 24/7 Home Emergency Services (HES) contract.

Allianz Partners, one of the world's leading providers of assistance and insurance solutions, is also providing individuals with peace of mind through the new bespoke HES cover for Lloyds Banking Group home insurance customers.

The partnership with Sainsbury's Bank is not the only business win for Allianz UK this year. They have also announced a strategic agreement with Volkswagen Financial Services UK and secured the business of VetPartners. This reinforces Allianz UK's position as a leading provider of embedded insurance solutions in the UK.

Serge Raffard, Managing Director for Personal Lines at Allianz UK, expressed excitement about the partnership. He stated, "We are thrilled to be partnering with Sainsbury's Bank and look forward to delivering high-quality insurance solutions to their customers."

The partnership between Allianz UK and Sainsbury's Bank reflects a strong alignment in values between the two organizations and is expected to begin on November 1, 2025.
