The district purchased the land for its hospital's expansion in 2019, which included the Butz's operating area. Hospital director Martin Rederer, Mayor Schuetz, and both councils have been running the tavern in recent years but will no longer be directly involved in its operations.
Mayor Josef Schuetz sees the opportunity to preserve the tradition of the Butz under the new ownership while also setting fresh impulses for the future. Kulzer plans to bring more events, particularly in the areas of culture and music, to the Butz.
District Councilor Tanja Schweiger expressed gratitude for the support from all parties involved in preserving the Butz tavern. The operation to preserve the Butz tavern, involving the district and the city of Wörth an der Donau, will continue under the new ownership.
