Antigua and Barbuda Enhances CBI Program: Virtual Visit Mandatory, 150+ Visa-Free Countries
Antigua and Barbuda's Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program has seen enhancements. Main applicants and dependents aged 16 and above must now make a virtual visit, starting 2023. Despite this, passport holders enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to over 150 countries, including all Schengen nations and the UK.
The Caribbean nation offers a second citizenship and passport through investment. A minimum of $230,000 is required, with options to invest in the National Development Fund, real estate, or the University of the West Indies Fund. Successful applicants and their families must spend a total of 5 days in the country within the first 5 years.
The program provides extensive global mobility. In 2025, Antigua and Barbuda passport holders can travel visa-free to over 150 countries, including Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United States, where they have access to a 10-year multiple-entry tourist visa. Additionally, there's no tax on foreign income, no language requirement, and all documents must be in English. The application process takes between 6 to 9 months, allowing families to be included.
Antigua and Barbuda's CBI program offers global mobility, tax benefits, and a straightforward application process. With the new virtual visit requirement, applicants can still enjoy the advantages of a Caribbean passport, making it an attractive option for those seeking a second citizenship.
