Appoints Jake Perlman as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology & Information Officer at the charter organization
In a shakeup at Stamford, Conn.-based Charter Communications, Inc., Jake Perlman has been appointed as the executive vice president and chief technology officer (CTO). This new position comes with a broadened set of responsibilities, including oversight of critical teams and strategic integration efforts.
Previously based in Greenwood Village, Colorado, Perlman will now supervise the software development and IT teams, in addition to the connectivity technology and technology operations organizations. The aim is to fully integrate software, engineering, and technology operations for better product delivery and improved user experiences across Charter’s converged mobile, WiFi, internet, and video offerings.
Rich DiGeronimo, President of Product and Technology, expressed his confidence in Perlman's ability to streamline high-quality technology delivery, saying, "Jake's blend of architectural vision and detail-oriented approach, combined with his relentless pursuit of root causes to drive scaled architectural change, will be key to continuous improvement."
Perlman's extensive background in technology delivery and operations leadership prepared him well for his expanded role. Before joining Charter in 2016, he served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Bright House Networks, and held various senior technology leadership positions at Qwest and CenturyLink (now Lumen).
As Charter's CTIO, Perlman currently oversees several development and operations organizations, including service experience technology, AI and machine learning platforms, Spectrum Mobile and Spectrum Business systems, compute platforms, cybersecurity, labs, integration testing, software architecture, and internal IT.
Perlman also plays an active role in the community, serving on the National Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of the USA. He holds a bachelor's degree from Brown University and an MBA from the University of Colorado Boulder's Leeds School of Business.
