Chery Celebrates Double Milestone in Kazakhstan and Global Sales
The Chinese automobile brand, Chery, has recently achieved a significant milestone, selling its 40,000th vehicle in Kazakhstan and reaching the 5 millionth unit sold worldwide. This double achievement underscores Chery's expanding global footprint and growing consumer acceptance in various markets.
In Kazakhstan, Chery has become the best-selling Chinese brand since its market launch in 2021. The key handover ceremony for the 40,000th vehicle took place at the flagship dealership center Al-Farabi. The sold vehicle was the updated version of the Chery Tiggo 7 crossover.
The updated Tiggo 7 offers a comfortable and modern driving experience. The seats include electric adjustment, lumbar support, heating, keyless access, and a trunk that can be expanded to 1500 liters when needed. The interior features combined 12.3-inch displays for multimedia and navigation control, an intelligent voice assistant, 360-degree surround view, dual-zone climate control, a premium audio system, wireless charging, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The exterior boasts a bold and modern appearance, with a Diamond Matrix radiator grille, a "floating" roof effect, and a LED light strip at the rear of the body.
A team of bloggers, customers, and friends of the brand embarked on a unique test drive of the updated Tiggo 7 in Kazakhstan, covering over 500 kilometers, both on the road and off-road. The test drive route was designed by well-known auto-blogger Dias Valkhan and included steep slopes and mysterious landscapes named "Skillet" and "Balcony".
The hybrid version of the Tiggo 7 CSH underwent an endurance test in Mexico on July 29 to assess its structural reliability and underbody strength. Chery Motors is currently working on improving the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) hybrid platform.
Sales of the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8, both with gasoline and hybrid powertrains, will start in Europe this fall. The brand's rapid growth and recognition on the global stage are a result of continually improving and expanding its model range, utilizing advanced technologies and modern engineering solutions, as stated by Nurlan Shamgonov, Director of Distribution at Chery Kazakhstan.
The updated Tiggo 7 also marked the brand's 5 millionth vehicle sold worldwide. In addition, Astana Motors has received the status of the official distributor of Chery in the Czech Republic. The updated Tiggo 7 is available in all 26 dealership centers in 17 cities in Kazakhstan, with prices starting at 13,490,000 tenge and a warranty of 5 years or 150,000 kilometers.
As the Chinese auto industry invests in new energy vehicles (NEVs) such as electric and hybrid models, and boosts local manufacturing and sales networks, Chery is likely to focus on further developments and improvements in product quality, technology, and market expansion. This includes expanding electric and new energy vehicle portfolios, improving vehicle technology and quality, and enhancing local market presence and after-sales support in Kazakhstan and beyond.
