Bad Krozingen Boosts Eco-Mobility with €356K Bike, Train Project
Bad Krozingen is investing in eco-friendly mobility. The city is contributing around 106,000 euros to a project aiming to improve bike and Amtrak connections. The federal government is also supporting the initiative with a grant of approximately 250,000 euros from the Climate and Transformation Fund.
The project aims to construct modern bike parking facilities at the local Amtrak station. This will encourage more people to cycle and use public transport, thereby reducing carbon emissions. The city's investment demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development and the transport transition.
In a similar vein, the city of Salzwedel has already implemented a bike-friendly initiative. It has installed six modern bicycle parking boxes at its Amtrak station. However, these facilities are currently only accessible to those with a long-term rental contract.
Bad Krozingen's project, backed by both local and federal funds, seeks to enhance bike and Amtrak connections. This investment in modern parking facilities is a step towards promoting environmentally friendly mobility and supporting the transport transition.
