Belarus Nuclear Plant Plans Major Repairs on Both Reactors
The Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) has announced plans for significant repairs on its first power unit, with work set to begin after initial repairs are completed. Meanwhile, the second power unit is due for a planned preventive repair (PPR) in a few weeks.
The BNPP has not yet revealed which company or organization will undertake the major repairs on the first reactor unit. However, specialists will carry out the work, which will mark the fourth such repair since the unit's launch.
The upcoming repairs will also involve replacing a quarter of the fuel in the second power unit. Following the repairs, the second power unit will return to its standard operation mode. The BNPP aims to be on load for approximately 11 months out of the 12-month cycle.
Repairs at the BNPP are scheduled to resume in November and continue until the end of the year, with a possible extension into January. The plant's first power unit will undergo its fourth round of repairs, while the second unit will undergo a planned preventive repair.
