Breaking: China Resumes Boeing Jet Deliveries Post Tariff Deal! 🛬🇨🇳🇺🇸

Boeing aircraft deliveries to China receive authorization once again.

Good news for Boeing! After a recent trade deal between the U.S. and China, China has decided to lift its ban on Boeing jet deliveries. This move allows Boeing to restart its deliveries to Chinese airlines, providing an immediate boost to the company.

What's Going Down?

According to reports, key Chinese government officials have started informing domestic airlines and government agencies that deliveries of US-made aircraft can resume. The airlines have been given the freedom to schedule the deliveries according to their preferences. The initial agreement in the trade dispute between the two superpowers resulted in a 90-day truce, significantly lowering tariff rates in their ongoing tussle.

The Expected Numbers

It's estimated that up to 50 Boeing aircraft will be delivered to China this year. This resumption of deliveries saves Boeing time and resources in finding alternative buyers, ensuring significant inflows of cash.

China, A Crucial Market for Boeing

China accounts for roughly 10% of Boeing's commercial order backlog, making it a critical market for the company. Over the next two decades, projections predict that China will account for 20% of global aircraft demand. In 2018, nearly a quarter of Boeing's production was delivered to China. However, due to trade tensions and internal problems, Boeing hasn't announced major orders from China in recent years.

The Past Challenges

In 2019, China was the first country to ground the 737 Max following two fatal crashes. The trade disputes with both the Biden and the first Trump administrations also contributed to the shift in Chinese orders towards Airbus.

The Future

The lifting of the ban and reduction of tariffs signify an important step towards resolving the disruption caused by tariffs and trade tensions for Boeing’s business in China. This significant resumption of deliveries is expected to boost Boeing's sales and restore its presence in the Chinese aviation market disrupted by trade tariffs.
