Boost Smart Factory Efficiency with Industrial Internet of Things and 5G Technology

On August 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM ET, 11:00 AM CT, 9:00 AM PT, and 5:00 PM GMT, an engaging panel discussion will take place, sponsored by Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions. The event will delve into the real-world applications of Industrial IoT (IIoT) in manufacturing and the critical role of private 5G cellular networks in their success.

The panel will feature industry experts, including Peter Wienzek, Business Development Manager for digitalization, RTM, and software solutions within the ifm group. Peter is a key figure in the development and implementation of IO-Link, a digital transformation technology, and the main driver of IO-Link as a digital transformation technology. He has spent over 30 years at IFM, solving automation tasks in various industries.

El Mehdi Sodki, Director of Sales, North America for Streamwide, will also be a speaker. Streamwide specializes in software solutions for digital transformation and real-time coordination in demanding environments. El Mehdi specializes in carrier-grade NextGen VAS solutions in the areas of Enterprise mobile IP messaging, voice messaging, digital transformation, and connected worker solutions. He holds dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees from Rutgers University, one in Information Technology and one in Economics.

Rodney Hill, Product Launch Manager at Atlas Copco, will bring 18 years of experience in launching integrated wireless assembly tools and implementing cutting-edge technologies with existing systems across diverse manufacturing environments.

Jan Diekmann, Global Vertical Lead for next-generation smart industry technology at Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions, will serve as a speaker, focusing on manufacturing and cargo ports.

The discussion will focus on the transformative impact of IIoT on manufacturing, with a particular emphasis on connected factory workers, asset condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and quality control. IIoT enables operators to receive real-time data and feedback via wearable devices or dashboards, enhancing human-machine collaboration. Sensors capture data on machine health indicators, enabling maintenance teams to track asset status in real time and prevent failures before they occur. Using AI and analytics on sensor data, manufacturers can forecast potential equipment breakdowns and prescribe specific maintenance actions. Continuous sensor data and digital twins provide real-time quality intelligence, transforming quality control into a continuous process integrated throughout production.

Regarding private 5G cellular networks, they contribute critically to IIoT success in manufacturing by providing high-speed, low-latency, and reliable wireless connectivity that supports real-time data exchange between sensors, devices, and control systems. Private 5G networks also offer enhanced capacity and security over public networks, ensuring that sensitive operational data remains protected and communication remains uninterrupted. This enables seamless remote monitoring, automation, and rapid response to operational changes, thereby empowering smarter and more agile manufacturing operations.

The event will last for 60 minutes and will be a live, interactive panel discussion. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the speakers. Don't miss this chance to learn about the future of manufacturing from industry leaders!
