Bosch to Cut 13,000 Jobs in Mobility Division by 2030
German automotive giant Bosch is set to reduce its workforce by around 13,000 jobs in its Mobility division by the end of 2030. This significant cut comes amidst the ongoing automotive industry crisis and a previous reduction of 15,000 jobs since 2024.
The job cuts will affect various sites, including Feuerbach, Schieberdingen, Waiblingen, Bühl, and Homburg. Both combustion engine and electric drive production will be impacted, with electric drives facing heavier cuts. The reduction extends beyond manufacturing to central functions like development, sales, and administration.
Bosch's goal is to achieve an operating margin of 7% in the Mobility division by 2026. To reach this, the company plans to cut annual expenses by 2.5 billion euros. This follows a previous announcement in 2024 of 9,000 jobs near me cuts, with half already implemented. The Mobility division currently employs 230,000 people worldwide, with around 70,000 in Germany.
