Brest Customs Seize Undeclared 9-Ton Food Additive Shipment
Brest customs officers have intercepted a significant undeclared shipment of complex food additives at the 'Kozlovichi' border crossing. The Polish transporter, using a Volvo truck, attempted to avoid customs payments by not listing 9 tons of the goods in their documents. The total value of the undeclared items was over Br190,000.
The incident occurred on November 15. During an inspection, customs officers discovered an additional 360 bags of the undeclared complex food additive, used as a natural flavoring in fat product production. An administrative process has been initiated against the Polish transporter for undeclaration, with a potential fine of up to Br57,000. The undeclared goods were worth over Br40,000. Despite the search, information about the company involved and their intended destination remains unclear.
The undeclared shipment of complex food additives highlights the vigilance of Brest customs officers in preventing such activities. The transporter now faces an administrative process and potential fines, with the total value of undeclared goods exceeding Br190,000.
