Oncam, a leading company in 360-degree camera technology, is changing its business model. The shift in strategy, which prioritizes high-value, technology-aligned partnerships over volume retail or reseller sales, aims to leverage these partners’ existing customer bases and technical expertise to accelerate deployment, tailor solutions to specific markets, and enhance integration capabilities.

The company will cease selling products through traditional security channels and focus on strategic alliance vendor partners and select systems integrators. This approach will enable Oncam to collaborate closely with these partners, ensuring end-to-end solution customization and implementation.

The decision to revise the business model was prompted by an analysis of Oncam's market strategy and global sales methods. The two existing business models have been conflicting, leading to the decision to change.

Oncam will continue to provide support for its existing install base of products and will focus on integrations with leading VMS players, narrowing down to 10-15 integrations. The company will also continue channel sales of products in India due to minimal conflicts.

The direct sales team's efforts to promote Oncam’s brand have led to increased projects, some of which overlapped with those of the company's largest strategic alliance partners. This shift in strategy may possibly reduce investments in broad-based channel programs or traditional security dealers.

Oncam aims to remain at the forefront of fisheye lens technology innovation and will continue to leverage its brand cache and aims to strengthen and grow its strategic alliance partnerships. However, it will not take on the role of a traditional OEM supplier.

Meanwhile, in other news, DMP introduces JamAlert, a solution to combat the growing threat of illegal cell jammers. This innovative product is designed to protect critical infrastructure and public safety from the disruptions caused by these devices.

As always, it's important to check Oncam’s official communications or recent press releases for the absolute latest and direct confirmation of their go-to-market approach, as the current publicly available search results do not explicitly capture this transition.

In the revised business model of Oncam, premier in 360-degree camera technology, the focus will not be on traditional security channels for product sales, but rather on strategic alliance vendor partners and select systems integrators, to foster collaboration and ensure end-to-end solution customization. To further their position in the industry, Oncam intends to deepen relationships with key partners in finance and business, with an emphasis on integrations with leading VMS players and narrowing down to 10-15 integrations.
