Civil Guard of Spain to receive new KGM SUVs
KG Mobility, a Korean automaker, has supplied its Rexton and Musso Sports SUV models to Spain's Directorate General of the Civil Guard for use in special missions. These missions range from drug interdiction to missing person searches, and the vehicles are being operated by Spain's paramilitary law enforcement agency.
KG Mobility Rexton
The Rexton, powered by a 2.2L diesel engine producing 202 hp and 441 Nm of torque, offers reliable and confident performance. It has a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg and a gross vehicle weight of approximately 2,960 kg, making it capable of towing and transporting equipment as needed for special missions.
The Rexton's off-road capability is impressive, with an approach angle of 20.5° and body-on-frame construction, providing the ruggedness and durability essential for challenging terrain and operational conditions. Utility features include blacked-out rear side door windows for privacy and security, functional doors for side access, an electrically powered rear tailgate, and a cargo area of 2.2 m³ lined with rubberized matting for soundproofing and non-slip surface.
Advanced systems such as an around-view camera system, blind-spot detection, and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen enhance situational awareness and operational efficiency. The Rexton is recognized as a flagship model with a history of durability and body-on-frame construction, making it suitable for prolonged and intensive use in enforcement roles.
KG Mobility Musso Sports
While specific detailed official specs for the Musso Sports variant used by the Civil Guard are limited due to the model's recent/upcoming releases, the Musso is known for its rugged body-on-frame design intended for durability and off-road use. The upcoming Musso EV version features an 80.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with dual motor configurations for a total of 413 horsepower and a range of approximately 401 km.
Previous Musso models have demonstrated endurance, proven durability in patrol usage in South Korea, suggesting a robust platform suitable for special mission adaptations. Although the electric version has not been officially released yet and may differ from the versions in service, it shows the Musso family's transition toward powerful and capable vehicles.
A Perfect Fit for Special Operations
Both vehicles, with their rugged construction and proven utility, fulfill the demanding requirements for special operations by Spain's Directorate General of the Civil Guard. KG Mobility recently supplied 86 SUVs to the agency, and they are currently being prepared for deployment.
The deployment of these SUVs marks a significant step in enhancing Spain's law enforcement capabilities, particularly in challenging operational environments. With their ability to detect drugs and explosives, search for missing persons, and operate effectively in various terrains, the Rexton and Musso Sports are set to play a crucial role in Spain's ongoing efforts to maintain safety and security.
The Rexton's robust performance, featuring a diesel engine and impressive towing capacity, makes it an ideal choice for finance-intensive transportation needs within the automotive industry, particularly in special missions such as drug interdiction and missing person searches.
As KG Mobility's Musso Sports transition towards electric power with high performance and endurance, its potential in the finance sector, specifically for projects related to green transportation and technology, becomes increasingly evident, further diversifying the company's industry presence. Additionally, its proven track record in special operations, as demonstrated in South Korea's patrol usage, points towards its potential in the sports and law enforcement sectors as well.
