Expressway Toll Fees Waived on Mother's Day in Greater Bangkok

In a special gesture for National Mother's Day, the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has announced that toll fees will be waived on three major expressway routes in Greater Bangkok on August 12, 2025.

The toll-free period will start at 12:01 AM on August 11 and last until midnight on August 12, providing a 24-hour window of free travel across 63 toll booths. The affected expressways are Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway, Si Rat Expressway, and Udon Ratthaya Expressway.

Drivers can enjoy toll-free travel on the following routes: - Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway with 21 toll booths - Si Rat Expressway with 32 toll booths - Udon Ratthaya Expressway with 10 toll booths

This initiative aims to reduce travel costs for the public, as well as help alleviate traffic congestion at toll collection points. By waiving toll fees, the EXAT hopes to encourage more convenient travel during the national celebration.

August 12 is a significant day as it marks the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and is also declared as National Mother's Day. The amended concession agreements between EXAT, Bangkok Expressway and Metro Plc, and Northern Bangkok Expressway Co Ltd have set out this policy.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead and monitor traffic updates due to expected heavy travel despite the waived tolls. It is expected that this gesture will make the travel experience more pleasant for many families, as they celebrate National Mother's Day.
