Construction Boss Convicted for Exploiting Workers, Dodging €28,215 in Contributions

A construction company boss from Landshut has been convicted for exploiting workers and dodging social security payments. The case, initiated by a routine traffic stop, involved the employment of four workers from South-Eastern Europe without proper registration or wage payments. The convicted managing director, employed the workers for his private construction project over ten months. He failed to register them with the social security office or pay the required contributions, totaling over €28,215. The company involved, Aichinger Transport und Logistik GmbH, was found to have illegally refused to pay social security contributions twelve times and supported the illegal stays of workers three times. The court found that three of the workers did not have the necessary residence permits for employment. By hiring them, the convicted person aided and abetted their illegal residence. He was convicted for withholding and misappropriating wages in nine cases and aiding and abetting illegal residence in three cases. The court sentenced him to eight months imprisonment, suspended. The convicted managing director's actions have resulted in a significant loss to the social security system. The court's decision sends a clear message that exploiting workers and evading social security contributions will not be tolerated.
