Converted wheels onto a snowmobile, transforming it into a rambunctious all-terrain tricycle.

In a daring experiment, creative YouTubers have taken a 600cc Ski-Doo Formula III snowmobile and converted it into a unique three-wheeled street-rod for off-road thrills. The approaches involved removing the snowmobile's track and skis, fabricating a new rear axle setup, and installing a set of wheels with knobby tires, which didn't spare the Ski-Doo's appearance from looking somewhat demonic.

Upon inspecting their new creation, the team quickly recognized a fueling issue plaguing the engine, leading to fouled spark plugs. A service to the carburetor was, therefore, necessary. Suspecting the insufficiency of the snowmobile's stock cooling system for dry-land exploits, they also designed a new radiator for the rear of the engine compartment.

With these modifications in place, the Ski-Doo was ready for a test drive. Their fearless test driver, adorned with a hardhat, initially struggled to get accustomed to the squirrelly off-road vehicle. Nevertheless, he managed to perform a series of impressive donuts before escaping to private property to avoid drawing unwanted attention.

Following their initial shakedown run, the team discovered that the mounting plates welded to the rear tunnel of the Ski-Doo, which had never been designed to handle the forces exerted by sticky rubber on pavement, had begun to bend. By incorporating some lateral support, constructed from a piece of pipe, the issues were resolved.

Despite the circumstances, the modified Ski-Doo proved more capable than initially anticipated. Its handling shared similarities with a snowmobile, albeit with the challenge of getting power down with only a single rear wheel. Each test driver had to spend a substantial amount of time altering the vehicle's direction before successfully applying any power.

While it may turn heads and provide laughter, the converted Ski-Doo hardly promises the most effective method of off-pavement transport. The team recommends improving the vehicle's handling further with the inclusion of a rear suspension and lengthening the battery cable.

As regulation can vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, operators planning to use this modified snowmobile on public roads should ensure they meet local requirements regarding vehicle registration, lighting, and insurance. In this case, safety and legality are paramount considerations.
