The Dacia Bigster, a new addition to the C-SUV segment, was unveiled in 2025. With its strong, boxy appearance, the Bigster offers a unique design that sets it apart from its competitors. The vehicle's length is 4.57 meters, and it boasts a wheelbase of 2.7 meters, providing a spacious interior.

One of the Bigster's standout features is the 'YouClip' system, which allows for the securing of a range of accessories, enhancing its practicality. The rear-seat passengers benefit from air vents, a central armrest with two cupholders, and even two USB-C charging ports for added comfort. The interior also includes a floating center console packed with storage options and a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, as well as a smaller seven-inch driver information screen.

The Bigster uses the CMF-B platform, as the Duster does, and offers two powertrain options. The manual gearbox is a six-speed unit, while the full hybrid (HEV) option features an automatic four-speed gearbox. The vehicle's rear features flared bodywork, pointed LED lights, and a long rear overhang, adding to its distinctive appearance.

The Bigster's boot size is up to 677 litres, featuring a flat floor for easy loading, and the rear seats have a 40/20/40 split, allowing for the carrying of bulky items alongside passengers. The vehicle's electric tailgate can be activated in three ways: dashboard, externally on the lid, or via the key fob.

In terms of resale value, the Bigster is expected to follow a similar pattern to the Dacia Duster, which is among the top 10 slowest depreciating cars. While specific resale value predictions for the Bigster are not yet available, the Duster's strong residual values suggest the Bigster will also hold its value well relative to other vehicles in its segment.

When compared to competitors in the C-SUV class, the Bigster commands a price around £29,440 and retains about 49.78% of its value after three years, which means it depreciates more (£15,736) compared to the Nissan Qashqai, which retains nearly 65% and depreciates £10,316 over the same period. The Renault Captur retains between 52% and 54% of its value in three years, outperforming the Bigster but trailing the Qashqai.

Despite its faster depreciation compared to some competitors, the Bigster's balance of price, running costs, and practicality positions it as a compelling value-for-money choice in the segment. Buyers prioritizing practicality, spaciousness, and budget will find the Bigster attractive despite a less refined driving experience and cabin compared to mainstream competitors.

Thus, while the Bigster’s residual value is lower than some popular C-SUV rivals, its affordable price, low running costs, and practical features make it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers.
