Databricks & OpenAI Partner for $100M to Integrate GPT-5 into Data Intelligence Platform

Databricks, the data and AI company, has announced a multi-year partnership with OpenAI, valued at around $100 million. The collaboration aims to integrate OpenAI's advanced language models, including the upcoming GPT-5, into Databricks' Data Intelligence Platform. This will expand use cases for Databricks' customers, enabling them to leverage the latest AI models directly where their corporate data resides.

The partnership will allow Databricks customers to deploy OpenAI models without the need for additional data movement or complex preparations. This is made possible by Databricks' Unity Catalog, which will provide end-to-end controls for security, access rights, and ethical guidelines in AI agent development using Agent Bricks, Databricks' AI solution.

The technical teams of both companies will work together to optimize and adapt the models to the specific needs of enterprise customers. This collaboration will enable Databricks customers to explore new use cases, such as disease prediction, energy efficiency improvement, financial fraud prevention, and software development acceleration.

Through this partnership, Databricks customers will soon have access to the latest OpenAI models, starting with GPT-5 as the standard model for developing tailored applications. The integration of OpenAI's cutting-edge language models into Databricks' platform is expected to enhance the capabilities of enterprise customers, driving innovation and growth.
