Deister holds the position as Head of Department for Communication and Public Affairs in the ASB.
Marcel Deister has joined the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) as the new Head of Communications and Public Affairs department, effective from January 1st, 2023. Deister brings a wealth of experience in strategy, politics, and stakeholder dialogue, having previously worked at the Volkswagen Group and Corporate Works Council, as well as in various political and strategic roles. Before joining ASB, Deister served as the personal assistant to the Lower Saxony Minister-President Stephan Weil in Hannover. He also worked in the office of Lars Klingbeil at the Willy-Brandt-Haus. At the Volkswagen Group and Corporate Works Council, Deister honed his skills in handling strategy, politics, and stakeholder dialogue. His work history demonstrates a consistent focus on these areas, which he will bring to his role at ASB. In his new position, Deister will focus on expanding political communication within the Communications and Public Affairs department. He reports directly to the CEO Uwe Martin Fichtmueller at ASB. Deister's work experience prior to ASB includes a diverse range of roles, including political and strategic positions. His personal focus at ASB will remain on expanding political communication, as stated in earlier bullet points. It is worth noting that Timo Degen was the predecessor of Marcel Deister as Head of Communication and Public Relations at the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund. Deister's appointment marks a new chapter for the Communications and Public Affairs department at ASB, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact his experience and expertise will bring.
