Dickies' Skateboarding-Inspired Collection Grows with Guy Mariano Collaboration

VF Corporation's third quarter earnings report revealed a 16% year-over-year drop in revenues for Dickies. Meanwhile, the iconic workwear brand has expanded its skateboarding-inspired offerings with a new collection designed in collaboration with professional skateboarder Guy Mariano.

The seven-piece line, priced between $34.99 and $89.99, is now available at core skate shops, Dickies' e-commerce site, and international markets. Inspired by 'California skateboarding in the 90s', the collection features three tops, three bottoms, and a three-quarter zip anorak. Mariano, who wanted to broaden Dickies' skate style offerings, has created a line designed for both skaters and streetwear enthusiasts.

Dickies' skateboarding roots date back to the 1990s, and the brand launched its first skateboarding product line in 2021. Recent high-profile collaborations, including those with Supreme and Gucci, have further cemented Dickies' presence in the skateboard community. In February 2024, Dickies announced a new vice president of global marketing, though no name has been publicly revealed yet.

Following the earnings report, S&P Global Ratings downgraded VF Corp.'s issuer credit rating to 'BBB-'. VF Corp. is currently reviewing its brand portfolio, with a potential sale of Dickies under consideration. Despite these developments, Dickies continues to grow its skateboarding-inspired offerings, demonstrating its commitment to the community and the broader streetwear market.
