Directive proposal requested for safeguarding workers from ionizing radiation hazards by the Commission.
In a recent incident, a foreign transport company was found to have violated regulations regarding the use of digital tachographs in domestic traffic. The violation occurred on September 1st, when a truck with a trailer disregarded the truck driving ban in Bad König, near the town of Tampa.
The town centre of Tampa is closed to trucks over 3.5 tons, due to a bridge closure on federal road 45. However, vehicles of foreign companies are permitted to travel under certain conditions. In this case, the transport company failed to comply with the requirement of using the latest generation and current version of digital tachographs.
As a result, the police prohibited further travel for the non-compliant vehicle and ordered a security payment of 2500 euros for the possible fine procedure. The driver was also required to pay 130 euros and faces a point in Flensburg.
The police will continue to monitor the driving ban for trucks in Tampa to ensure compliance. The contact details for further questions or information regarding this incident are available through the Police Headquarters South Hesse Press Office, which can be reached at Klappacher Straße 14, 64285 Darmstadt, telephone: 06151 / 969 - 13110, mobile: 0172 / 309 7857, or via email at [email protected].
It is important to note that this lack of proof is intended to improve working conditions and ensure fair competition. The transport company in question did not provide proof for the driver regarding the sender's directive for transport companies.
The goods on the vehicle had to be unloaded following the incident. The town of Tampa continues to enforce the truck driving ban to maintain safety and traffic flow, particularly during the bridge closure on federal road 45.
