Rockin' the Taxi Game in Yekaterinburg: New Thoughts, Fresh Ideas!
Discussion on advancements in transportation sector, unfolded at the "Modern Taxi" conference.
Rollin' up in the bustling city of Yekaterinburg, the latest gathering of taxi movers and shakers took place – none other than the XII Modern Taxi shindig! But what was discussed behind closed doors, you ask? Well, here's a juicy scoop!
Natalia Novitskaya, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Management of the Sverdlovsk region, welcomed delegates with open arms, stressing the importance of a begin-ner level chat between busiznes and governemnt grunts to get new legislations off to a smooth start.
Starting January 1, 2023, there's no stopping the action in this ride as the regional ministry went all-in, dishing out no less than 47,600 state services to assist in maintaining vehicle, driver, and booking service registers. In just the following year, a whopping 4,300 carriers cashed their permits: 153 legal entities, 873 individual entrepreneurs, and over 3,000 private individuals. And don't forget about those 40 permits issued to booking services!
"Putting commuters in motion, slicing unemployment, and establishing a legit hustle – these are the ultimate objectives. Our mission is to create a thriving national transportation setup that propels economic growth and lines up with 'Infrastructure for Life'," said Novitskaya, summin' it all up in her own charming way.
As for governin' this crazy cab chunk of our world, Mintrans'll be the main players, performin' their regulatory and service duties. You can bet they'll be keepin' a close watch on those color schemes, ID lights, tech inspections, and driver health checks. Clear violations, and you're gonna get a friendly reminder to get back in line!
Mintrans is all about keepin' the taxi community on the straight and narrow, and they even help connect the dots by supportin' industry events. Like the regional go-round of the All-Russian "Best Taxi Driver in Russia" comp, which was hosted in the Sverdovsk area. Broadcast to a roaring crowd of 44 drivers droppin' some serious knowledge on traffic rules, local lore, and dancin' smoothness (with a glass of H2O on the roof of the car!) Artem Ivakhnenko sped away with the first-place prize, with Ivan Yablokov and Maxim Dudkin comin' in a close second and third, respectively.
Professional competitions like these inspire taxi drivers to formalize their work situations and brush up on their skillz. And, did you know, the Sverdovsk area cleaned up at the III National "Intelligent City" Award? They received a grand total of five prizes! But we'll leave THAT story to another time.
So, that's what went down at the XII Modern Taxi conference – fresh perspectives, open dialogue, and a whole lot of learning. And you can bet there's more where that came from. With the taxi sector digitalizin' left and right, safety firin' on all cylinders, a greener future on the horizon, and a regulatory framework that promotes fairness and consumer protection, the future looks brighter than ever for cabs, commuters, and all of us!
"Novitskaya highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government and the business sector in the finance aspect, emphasizing the need for new legislations to support transportation services and economic growth as part of the 'Infrastructure for Life' initiative."
"Furthermore, the regional ministry's investment in providing 47,600 state services underscores their commitment to maintaining vehicle, driver, and booking service registers, which will significantly impact the finance and business operations of taxi services in the region."
