DMP Marks Five Decades of Commercial Operation
Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) marked a significant milestone on June 12, 2022, as they celebrated their 50th anniversary at their headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. The event was attended by approximately 500 guests, including dealers, vendors, nonprofit partners, dignitaries, friends, and family.
The celebration began with a panel discussion featuring DMP's CEO and President Rick Britton, Vice President of Fun Jan Britton, COO Marc Mills, and Vice President of Training David Peebles. During the discussion, they shared anecdotes about the early days of DMP and their perspectives on its growth and success. Marc Mills and David Peebles, who were among the first employees hired by DMP, reminisced about balancing their work at DMP with their schoolwork at Drury University.
Jeff Britton, a key figure in DMP's growth, spoke about his journey with the company, having had the opportunity to work in various departments since high school, learning from many different people. Mandy Tucker, another family member involved in the company, shared fond memories of visiting DMP on Saturdays as children.
The event also featured interviews with the Britton family, including Rick and Jan Britton, and their children, Jeff Britton and Mandy Tucker. The panel discussion was followed by guided tours of the DMP headquarters, allowing guests to gain a deeper understanding of the company's operations.
In addition to the celebrations, DMP's contributions to the community were highlighted. For instance, their long-term partnership with Convoy of Hope, a humanitarian organisation, has resulted in significant growth in their agricultural training program for farmers. What started as reaching 125 farmers in 2011 has expanded to training 39,000 farmers a year. Moreover, Convoy of Hope's food provision has grown from 115,587 children a day to 639,000, and their business training program for women has grown from 650 to 61,000 women a year.
Hal Donaldson, president of Convoy of Hope, discussed the partnership between DMP and Convoy of Hope since 2011. The event was also honoured with resolutions from the Missouri Senate and the Missouri House of Representatives, recognising DMP's 50-year milestone. U.S. Governor Mike Kehoe, U.S. Senators Eric Schmitt and Josh Hawley, and U.S. Congressman Eric Burlison issued certificates and letters of congratulations to DMP.
Scott Elkins, CEO of Zeus Fire and Security, shared his experiences about DMP being a valuable business partner over the years. Rick Britton gave closing remarks of gratitude at the 50th anniversary celebration, expressing his appreciation for the support and partnerships that have contributed to DMP's success over the past five decades.
