Dodge Durango prioritizes Hemi V-8 strength in its 2026 model design
The Dodge Durango, known as the three-row muscle SUV with a Dodge muscle car attitude, is set to receive an update for the 2026 model year. Dodge is continuing its commitment to delivering more performance and capability to its SUV customers, as evidenced by the key updates for the 2026 Dodge Durango R/T.
Notably, the Durango R/T will benefit from the return of the "Tow N Go" package, which includes performance brakes, an upgraded exhaust system, widened body flares, adaptive dampers, and an impressive 8,700 lb towing capacity, making it best-in-class among three-row SUVs.
Moreover, the Blacktop Redline package makes its debut, enhancing the Durango R/T's style, performance, and utility. Priced at $3,495, this package adds distinct 20-inch Black Noise wheels, giving the SUV a stealthy, aggressive look. It also features sharp SRT spoilers and stealthy HEMI badging, contributing to a sporty, muscular design. The wheels come in Satin Carbon and Forged Lights Out finishes to further amplify the vehicle's bold aesthetic, embracing a "power dressed in black" theme.
The Tow N Go package significantly boosts the Durango R/T's towing capabilities, making it capable of towing up to 8,700 lbs (3,946 kg). It includes enhancements like bold black Brembo calipers, adding to the SUV's fierce styling while improving braking performance necessary for heavy towing. The package is tailored for owners who need serious towing power for campers, boats, or trailers without sacrificing style or safety.
The Durango R/T continues to be powered by the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, producing 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. It comes standard with all-wheel drive, a performance-tuned suspension, an Alpine sound system, wireless charging, and the Uconnect 5 infotainment system. The R/T remains uniquely positioned as the only V-8 SUV in its class priced under $50,000, appealing to buyers who want both muscle and practicality.
Safety technologies like blind-spot monitoring with trailer tow detection, rear cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control with stop, trailer sway control, and seven airbags further enhance confidence during towing or family trips.
Dodge dealerships are currently accepting orders for the 2026 Durango, with the first customer deliveries expected to happen in the third quarter of 2025. Dodge will also release news on the 2026 Durango SRT Hellcat later this year.
