Enhancing the growth of a cutting-edge industrial park in Phu Tho, Vietnam, is the focus of Amata Vietnam.
In a significant move, Amata Vietnam, a leading industrial city developer in Southeast Asia, has announced plans to develop the Doan Hung Industrial Park (IP) into a smart city model. The announcement was made on May 16, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Phu Tho People's Committee and Amata VN PCL.
The development of Doan Hung IP marks another milestone in Amata's expansion in Vietnam. The company, which manages nine integrated industrial parks and townships spanning over 10,000 hectares, has been present in Vietnam for 30 years, with nearly 3,000 hectares across four key projects: Amata City Bien Hoa, Amata City Long Thanh, Amata City Ha Long, and Quang Tri Industrial Park.
The first phase of Doan Hung IP will cover 300-500 hectares in Tay Coc and Doan Hung communes. The Industrial Park aims to attract automotive manufacturing and supporting industries, high-tech industries, and clean energy using renewable resources.
The project discussions have focused on high-tech, environmentally friendly investments that contribute to socioeconomic development. These include projects in electronics, telecommunications, semiconductor manufacturing, AI, mechanical engineering, automotive and motorbike assembly, and industrial infrastructure development.
Amata Vietnam's CEO, Somhatai Panichewa, thanked the provincial leaders for their support and presented the 1/2000 master plan for Doan Hung IP, along with proposed next steps. Dang Xuan Phong, Secretary of Phu Tho Party Committee, stated that the province is one of the fastest-growing localities with an increasingly attractive business environment.
Phu Tho will assist Amata in resolving land clearance issues and attracting investment projects for Doan Hung IP. The province will also facilitate investment procedures, swiftly approve investment policies, and issue investment registration certificates to support Amata in the development of Doan Hung IP.
The news of Amata's expansion in Vietnam was first made public when Lite-On Technology Group began construction on its factory at Amata City Ha Long IP on March 18. Amata Vietnam participated in the third Vietnam Manufacturing Investment Summit in Hanoi on December 12 to strengthen partnerships with manufacturers.
Vikrom Kromadit, chairman of Amata Corporation (Thailand), and senior executives, joined the meeting online to discuss the project. The meeting also saw Amata's delegation meeting with Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Secretary of Phu Tho Party Committee and Chairman of Phu Tho People's Committee, along with leaders of provincial departments.
With over 1,400 multinational tenants, Amata's industrial parks generate 300,000+ jobs and contribute $56 billion to national GDPs. The development of Doan Hung IP is expected to further boost these figures, solidifying Amata's position as a key player in Vietnam's industrial development.
