Entertainment venue "Extra Cinema" plans to debut in India

In Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, the local head, recently held discussions with Shaikh Yusuff, founder of "Janta Cinema", and Savdhan Jageesh, a co-founder. The meeting took place during the creative industries forum "Created in the Far East". The focus of the talks was an agreement with Yakut company "Extra Cinema" to establish 50 cinemas in India.

"Janta Cinema" specializes in creating affordable small cinemas, and their innovative technology has caught the attention of their partners. The name Janta comes from Hindi, meaning "people". Aisen Nikolaev highlighted the potential for quality cinema to become accessible throughout India as a result of this partnership.

Representatives from "Janta Cinema" underscored the demand in India for collective movie-viewing experiences and their intention to promote "Extra Cinema" in other markets.

In 2024, the "Extra Cinema" project was granted the status of a National Technological Initiative. Equipment from "Extra Cinema" is already installed in 72 cinemas in Yakutia, with plans for expansion in other Russian regions.

While specifics about the India-focused partnership remain to be detailed, Janta Cinema is known for its significant role in the Indian film industry. During the 2024 Film Bazaar at IFFI, the CEO of Janta Cinema, Yusuf Shaikh, hosted over 1,000 visitors, providing a space for producers to network and launch their projects, demonstrating the company's commitment to fostering industry connections within India.

This potential collaboration between Yakutia's Extra Cinema and Janta Cinema could boost cinema infrastructure in India by increasing the number of available cinema venues, potentially improving film accessibility across the country. This expansion could support regional cinema and diversified content availability, aligning with recent trends that show growing audience engagement for regional cinema compared to Bollywood and Hollywood.

For the latest official announcements or more concrete details about this alliance, monitoring government press releases and industry news platforms would be advisable.

Aisen Nikolaev envisioned the potential for investing in Janta Cinema's small-business model, believing it could revolutionize the finance landscape of India's cinema sector. The partnership between Janta Cinema and Extra Cinema could facilitate entrepreneurship opportunities in real-estate, leading to the construction of numerous business ventures focused on cinema infrastructure. With both companies demonstrating a commitment to innovation and industry connections, the alliance could significantly impact the Indian film industry, enhancing accessibility to quality cinema and diversifying content availability beyond Bollywood and Hollywood.
