Facing Obstacles in Contract Work
The construction of a much-anticipated pedestrian underpass in Krasnodar is currently facing delays, primarily due to the need for a gas pipeline to be relocated [1]. The discovery of groundwater at the construction site initially caused setbacks, but that issue has since been resolved.
At present, construction work is concentrated on the odd-numbered side of Dzerzhinsky Street, where the foundation for the stairway and the assembly of lift shafts are ongoing. The plan is to commence work on the even-numbered side in October 2025 [1].
The underpass, once completed, is expected to optimize traffic flow along Dzerzhinsky Street and significantly enhance pedestrian safety on both sides of the street. The project is of great importance to the city's residents, as it will alleviate congestion and ensure safer passage for pedestrians.
The gas pipeline relocation is a critical step in the construction process. The exact timeline for this operation has not been disclosed, but it is evident that it needs to be carried out as swiftly as possible to expedite the overall construction process.
During the night shifts, up to 18 workers are on site, ensuring that construction work continues around the clock. The commitment to round-the-clock work is a testament to the importance of the project and the determination of the builders to complete it as soon as possible.
Mayor Yevgeni Naumov recently inspected the site and reported on the delay. Despite the setbacks, the city remains optimistic about the completion of the underpass, which will bring significant benefits to the residents of Krasnodar.
