German Companies Set 2025 Sustainability Targets for AV Teams

By 2025, German companies like PORR are set to define sustainability targets for their AV teams, with many investing and centralising governance for transparency. However, 41% of organisations don't see AV as a tool to cut carbon emissions.

Kinly highlights the potential of AV technology in reducing emissions and energy use, especially for remote workers. Currently, 64% of businesses agree with this, and 31% are investing in smart building analytics to automate lighting and climate control based on occupancy data.

However, 45% of respondents lack insight into how physical spaces are used, hindering optimisation and full sustainability benefits. Despite this, 72% expect their AV teams to have defined sustainability targets by the end of the year, and 63% believe their AV departments are contributing to environmental goals. Additionally, 61% are now factoring e-waste into their technology procurement decisions, showing a growing awareness of sustainability in the AV sector.

German companies are taking steps to integrate sustainability into their AV teams by 2025. While some see AV as a valuable tool for reducing emissions, others remain unconvinced. Better understanding of space usage and continued investment in smart technologies can help unlock the full potential of AV for sustainability.
