Golf Fitness Platform Debuts: Enhancing Golf Skills and Overall Health

In the world of golf, there's more than just the drive for the green - it's a family tradition that's been passed down through generations. Richard Berle, an entrepreneur with a passion for the sport, cherished every moment spent with his grandfather and father on the Penmar Golf Course in Venice, California. So, it's no surprise he wanted to share that love with his sons, professional skateboarders Evan and Elijah.

"My first dream was: let's get out on the golf course," Richard said.

Richard, an avid fitness enthusiast, saw an opportunity to combine his love for golf with his dedication to health and wellness. He recognized a market gap for golf-specific fitness that not only improved players' games but also positively influenced their lives off the course. And thus, Golf Fit was born.

One such balmy afternoon while pedaling on a Peloton, the idea for Golf Fit took shape. "We really think we've got something that is going to be able to impact people," said Richard, who has dealt with his fair share of golf-related injuries due to limited mobility. "Not only their golf, but their health, their everyday lives, and their long-term relationship with the game."

Powered by trainers like Sheldon Roberts, one of Golf Digest's Best Fitness Trainers in America, Jeni DelPozo, and Dr. Bret Hoffer, Golf Fit offers over 70 workout plans tailored to various skill levels and focus areas, from pain-free to mobility, strength, and pre-round warm-ups. With new content released each month, Golf Fit integrates adaptive AI technology to deliver personalized training plans that adapt and evolve based on each user's progress and needs.

While other golf training apps cater mostly to hardcore golfers, Golf Fit aims to reach a wider audience beyond the confines of the traditional golf community. It's a flight beyond the clubhouse, inspired by golf-entertainment venues like Topgolf and streetwear-inspired brands like Malbon.

According to the National Golf Foundation, the number of American golfers rose to 28.1 million in 2024, the highest since 2008. With golf gaining traction as a popular pastime, there's a growing demand for innovative fitness solutions that appeal to this expanding golf community.

Evan Berle, one of the minds behind Golf Fit, emphasizes that the app appeals to golfers of all abilities and resources. "We wanted to create programs that said, 'If you have access to a full gym, here's a workout for you,' but we also wanted to make sure we had programs so if you're in your apartment in Manhattan and only had a band, you can still do stuff to get ready for golf."

Currently self-funded, Golf Fit is focusing on building its community of golf enthusiasts. Its mission transcends mere golf improvement; it's about promoting health, well-being, and fostering a strong connection with the game.

"Evan and I are really driven by this desire to give back to this game and help golfers play it as well as they possibly can," Richard said. "And underneath all that is just to help people with this horrible epidemic that we've got going on that is causing so many people to live their lives in such an unhealthy way.

"And golf, because of people's desire to do it so well might be the motivator that gets them from, 'I don't really like to exercise,' to 'I can't wait to do my next workout because of how it's going to make me feel.'"

In short, Golf Fit isn't just about mastering the perfect swing. It's about transforming lives, one round at a time.
