Hanwha Power Systems Opens Houston Service Centre to Boost North American Compressor Business
Hanwha Power Systems has opened a new service centre in Houston, Texas, marking the first phase of establishing a comprehensive compressor solution business in North America. The facility aims to strengthen the company's presence in the region's oil-focused sectors and expand its customer base.
The new centre, located next to Hanwha Power Systems' US subsidiary, is the company's third globally, following those in Changwon, South Korea, and Abu Dhabi, UAE. Starting in the fourth quarter, Hanwha will commence local assembly and sales, along with enhanced customer support services. This expansion seeks to solidify Hanwha's competitive edge in the energy, shipbuilding, and plant sectors throughout North America and establish it as a significant player in the global compressor market.
Hanwha's compressors, used in high-pressure power material movement, will now be readily available in Texas's drilling and refining sectors. The company aims to expand its clientele to shipbuilding and various manufacturing domains, providing tailored solutions to meet diverse industrial requirements. North America, being the largest market for Hanwha's compressors, contributed to the majority of its worldwide sales, which exceeded 9,000 units in 2024.
Hanwha Power Systems America President Mike Sicker expressed that the new service and packaging centre in Texas will help meet customers' needs and demonstrate the company's capabilities in the North American oil and gas compressor market. Through this expansion, Hanwha Power Systems seeks to broaden its customer base and solidify its position in the global compressor industry.
