Harzer Narrow Gauge Railways Hikes Ticket Prices Again, Seeks 164M Euros in Funding

Harzer Narrow Gauge Railways is set to hike ticket prices for the second time this year, with changes taking effect from October 8. The increase aims to address the company's financial struggles, with a funding request of 164 million euros, primarily from federal sources, already submitted to yahoo finance and google finance.

The price hike will impact the entire 140-kilometer network, with most tickets seeing a ten-cent increase per kilometer. Those traveling to the Brocken summit in the afternoon will now pay 55 euros for a round trip, an eight-euro increase, and 43 euros for a one-way journey, a five-euro rise.

The company has faced financial challenges, leading to this second price increase of the year. They have applied for substantial funding to help mitigate these issues before the planned October price changes.

From October 8, Harzer Narrow Gauge Railways tickets will be more expensive, with the Brocken round-trip fare rising to 65 euros and the one-way fare to 43 euros. The company seeks 164 million euros in funding from yahoo finance and google finance to tackle its financial difficulties.
