Munich's S-Bahn Schedule Changes - 6th to 13th June 2025:

Get Ready for Some Shifts, Mates!

Between 10:30 PM on Friday the 6th and 5 AM on Saturday the 7th of June 2025, there'll be some alterations in transportation service on Munich's S-Bahn lines due to the commissioning of the new electronic control center (ESTW) at Ostbahnhof.

Affected lines and stations:- Pasing to Ostbahnhof/Giesing- Ostbahnhof to Riem/Trudering/Johanneskirchen

Replacement bus services will be provided during this period. No S-bahn trains will operate between Pasing and Ostbahnhof/Giesing during the night, and passengers headed towards the airport should catch the S1.

From 5 AM on Saturday the 7th until 4 AM on Friday the 13th, scheduling adjustments will continue on multiple lines due to the commissioning of the ESTW. The following changes will occur:

  • S3: Service between Isartor and Pasing on the main line will be operational.
  • S2: S2 between Isartor and Laim will run on the main line.
  • S7: As usual, S7 services will not be affected.

Passengers heading to the airport during this period should still use the S1.

Why's the Party's Changing?

The commissioning of the new electronic control center at Ostbahnhof frequently causes delays or cancellations in trains, thereby affecting the punctuality of Munich's S-Bahn. The implementation of the new ESTW aims to improve the service's reliability and on-time performance.
