Houston Appoints First Chief Water Officer Drew Molly
Houston Public Works has appointed Andrew 'Drew' Molly as its first-ever chief water officer, effective September 15, 2023. Molly brings over two decades of experience in the water industry, including a significant tenure with the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
Molly's new role involves overseeing Houston's drinking water and wastewater systems, catering to a population of over 2 million residents. This is a newly created position aimed at bolstering leadership within the department's water operations.
Prior to joining Houston Public Works, Molly served as the Chief Operating Officer at Corpus Christi Water, where he managed water services for a seven-county area. His extensive experience and proven track record in the water sector have earned him high praise from Randy Macchi, the Public Works Director.
