Hyundai India Sales Surge 16.3% in September, SUVs Drive Record Performance
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has reported a significant surge in sales for September 2025, with total sales increasing by 16.3% from August 2025. This growth is part of a consistent upward trend over the past four months, culminating in the highest monthly sales figure yet for the company.
Breaking down the figures, domestic sales in September 2025 rose by a robust 17.1% from August, 17.2% from July, and 17.1% from June 2025. This strong performance can be attributed to the festival season, with domestic wholesales rebounding sharply by 17.2% from August 2025. SUVs were particularly popular, accounting for a record 72.4% of HMIL's domestic sales in September 2025, with 37,313 units sold.
The Hyundai Creta and Venue models also performed exceptionally well. The Creta achieved its highest-ever monthly tally of 18,861 units, while the Venue notched 11,484 units, its best performance in 20 months. Exports also jumped significantly, increasing by 43.5% to 18,800 units, the highest monthly tally since December 2022. Overall, HMIL sold 70,347 units in September 2025, up 9.6% from September 2024.
The strong sales performance in September 2025 reflects Hyundai's continued dominance in the Indian market. Despite overall car sales in India declining in August 2025, Hyundai has managed to buck the trend and achieve significant growth. With SUVs accounting for a record share of sales and key models like the Creta and Venue performing exceptionally well, Hyundai looks set to maintain its strong position in the market.
