The Indian Army has announced the formation of a new brigade, 'Rudra', which is set to play a crucial role in the country's military strategy and send a strong message of deterrence across its borders.
The brigade, named after the Hindu god of war, was unveiled by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on the occasion of the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas. Rudra marks a significant shift in military doctrine, aiming to enhance joint operations, agility, and quick response capabilities.
Rudra will comprise a mix of infantry, mechanised infantry, armoured units, artillery, special forces, and unmanned aerial systems. This diverse composition is designed to prepare the brigade for a wide range of special tasks, from logistics support to combat operations.
