Global Law Firm Announces Promotions to Partners and Directors

A leading global law firm has announced the promotion of 54 lawyers to partners and directors across various practice areas and locations. The promotions, effective January 1, 2022, reflect the firm's commitment to recognising and rewarding exceptional legal talent.

In the United States, Denton Nichols, Nathan Baum, Rafe Schaefer, Geraldine Young, and James Lockwood were promoted in the practice area of litigation and disputes, based in Houston, Dallas, and London. Darren Smith was promoted in the practice area of intellectual property, based in Houston. Kimberly Cheeseman was promoted in the practice area of employment and labor, based in Houston.

In Canada, Robin Acworth, Veronique Barry, Scott Boucher, Brian Chau, Matthew Choi, Jenna Anne de Jong, Russell Dufault, Alison FitzGerald, Caroline Jodoin, Jonathan Lafrance, Brigitte LeBlanc-Lapointe, Jennifer McPherson, Brian Milne, Fahad Siddiqui, Joshua Sprague, Nikita Stepin, Tim Stewart were promoted in various practice areas.

Across the pond, Matthew Buckle and Louisa Roe were promoted in the practice area of litigation and disputes and real estate, respectively, based in London. In Munich, Bernd Dreier, Annabelle Wheeler, and Alberta Yan were promoted in the practice area of corporate, M&A and securities. Veit Sahlfeld was promoted in the practice area of banking and finance, based in Hamburg.

In Australia, Kate Green, Harriet Oldmeadow, and Nick Sinclair were promoted in the practice areas of litigation and disputes, and banking and finance, respectively. Alex Zekkos was promoted in the practice area of banking and finance, based in London. Fiona Henderson was promoted in the practice area of banking and finance, based in New York. Rachel Chan was promoted in the practice area of corporate, M&A and securities, based in Hong Kong. Daniel Ng was promoted in the practice area of litigation and disputes, based in Hong Kong.

Rebecca Abou-Chedid was promoted in the practice area of projects, based in Washington, D.C. Joseph Drapalski was promoted in the practice area of litigation and disputes, based in Los Angeles. Rebecca Winthrop was promoted in the practice area of bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency, based in Los Angeles. In South Africa, Paul Cartwright was promoted to director in the practice area of litigation and disputes, based in Johannesburg.

The promotions span 11 practice areas, with litigation and disputes (18 lawyers) and corporate, M&A and securities (10) being the most represented. The firm also promoted lawyers in banking and finance (9), intellectual property (4), employment and labor (3), tax (3), real estate (2), projects (2), antitrust and competition (1), bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency (1), and information governance, privacy and cybersecurity (1).
