Joint FKS & Duisburg Police Operation Uncovers Illegal Workers & Social Security Violations in Duisburg's Logistics Sector

On 30.09.2025, a joint operation by the Finanzkontrolle Schwarzarbeit (FKS) and Duisburg Police led to significant findings in the city's logistics sector. The operation, overseen by the local Hauptzollamt, involved around 50 FKS officers and resulted in several suspected cases of unpaid social security contributions. The inspections, conducted across various logistics sites, revealed several irregularities. At one location, eight workers were discovered to be in Germany illegally, lacking the required residence titles. In total, over 40 people were interviewed about their employment status, and 23 proceedings were initiated on-site. The FKS officers, supported by the Duisburg Police, checked if employers had correctly registered their employees with the social security system, if foreign workers possessed necessary work permits and residence titles, and if minimum working conditions were met. Further criminal proceedings and administrative offenses are suspected in several cases. The joint operation by the FKS and Duisburg Police on 30.09.2025 has uncovered potential violations of employment and social security regulations in Duisburg's logistics sector. The findings could lead to additional criminal proceedings and administrative offenses. The customs authority, the Hauptzollamt, will continue to exercise control over such operations to ensure compliance with employment and social security laws.
