Kazakhstan Boosts Eurasia Presence, Plans $50B Logistics Investment

Kazakhstan is stepping up its international presence, with plans to actively participate in exhibitions in Georgia, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan. This move aligns with its commitment to the development of greater Eurasia. The country's transport minister, Nurlan Sauranbayev, has proposed creating a unified information map of Eurasia to boost international cooperation and information exchange in transport infrastructure.

Kazakhstan's investment in logistics has been significant, with around $35 billion poured into the sector over the past decade. The country plans to invest an additional $15 billion, bringing the total to $50 billion. This substantial investment reflects Kazakhstan's dedication to improving its logistics infrastructure and facilitating trade across Eurasia.

Minister Sauranbayev stressed the importance of intergovernmental agreements in ensuring stability and protecting investments in logistics projects along East-West and North-South routes. He proposed the creation of a unified information map of Eurasia to enhance international cooperation and information exchange in transport infrastructure. This map would provide a comprehensive overview of future plans and developments along major strategic routes, fostering a more connected and efficient Eurasia.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev launched the second line of the Dostyk-Moiynty railway during his virtual participation at the New Silk Way forum. This project is a testament to Kazakhstan's commitment to improving its transport infrastructure and facilitating regional connectivity.

Kazakhstan's active participation in international exhibitions and its ambitious plans for logistics infrastructure development and information exchange demonstrate its dedication to the growth and stability of greater Eurasia. While other countries' participation status in the proposed Eurasian information map is yet to be confirmed, Kazakhstan's initiatives are set to shape the region's transport landscape.
