KidSuper reveals introduction of Superhero CLA for Mercedes-Benz during Paris Fashion Week.
At the prestigious Musée des Arts Décoratifs in the Louvre, Paris, American fashion designer KidSuper unveiled a captivating collaboration with Mercedes-Benz as part of the "Class of Creators" initiative. The collaboration resulted in a unique "superhero" art piece, a sculptural car dubbed a "superhero on wheels," and a limited-edition capsule collection.
The car, a comic book–style masterpiece, boasts vivid, imaginative design elements such as chrome slingshots, rally-style roof racks, and balloon fins, evoking the image of a comic book machine built by a genius child with access to a welding studio. This artistic creation, brought from concept to reality, symbolizes the playful, creative spirit that KidSuper aimed to express.
The capsule collection consists of 13 mixed mechanic and painterly fashion pieces, including reimagined grease-stained jumpsuits with crisp tailoring and subtle embroidered details like the "KidSuper kiss" in unexpected places. The collection also features collaborations with Puma for co-designed football kits for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The overall vibe is imaginative, playful, and emotionally evocative, capturing the innocent fearlessness of childhood creativity and experimentation.
Mercedes-Benz's "Class of Creators" project showcases selected contemporary artists and creatives like Ice Spice, Gustaf Westman, Hot Wheels, and League of Legends, who each put their own spin on the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA, blending luxury, design, and pop culture. KidSuper's contribution stands out for its mixture of art, fashion, and automotive design into a surreal, comic-inspired vision.
Classic Mercedes-Benz design icons were incorporated into the project, with the wheels paying homage to the futuristic design of the 1996 Mercedes-Benz F 200 Concept Car, and the side mirrors paying tribute to the unmistakable silhouette of the legendary 200 SL. Each piece in the capsule collection proudly bears the Mercedes-Benz logo.
The capsule collection features jackets, shirts, pants, a trench coat, hats, bags, and a suitcase, all crafted from materials like cotton, canvas, popeline, jersey, wool, and vegan leather. The artwork also includes patchwork areas featuring the famous "Kissing Face" motif from KidSuper. The KidSuper x Mercedes-Benz collaboration is an inspiring masterpiece that impressively unites automotive design and art, reflecting Dillane's youthful creativity and embracing experimental, emotionally charged design in both the automotive and fashion realms.
