Kosovar Man Fined €7,200 for Sham Self-Employment in Germany
Regensburg Customs Office has exposed a case of sham self-employment, involving a Kosovar national who worked for a construction company. The scheme lasted over a year and resulted in significant social security losses.
The individual worked three days a week as an employee and two days as supposedly self-employed. This arrangement allowed him to avoid social security contributions, causing over €100,000 in damage. The Regensburg Customs Office's financial control discovered the scheme and brought it to light.
The Kosovar national was recently sentenced for simulating self-employment. He was fined €7,200 for his actions.
The case highlights the importance of proper self-employment registration and social security contribution. The individual's actions resulted in a substantial loss to the system, and his sentencing serves as a reminder of the consequences of such fraudulent activities.
