A Drop in Krasnodar's Meat and Poultry Production
Krasnodar region witnesses a significant surge in meat processing, reporting an increase of nearly 19%
In the initial quarter of 2023, Krasnodar's meat processing and canning sales soared to 5.2 billion rubles, exhibiting a growth of 18.6%, as per RIA Krasnodar. However, contrary to this upward trend, meat and poultry product manufacturing experienced a setback, decreasing to 9.3 billion rubles (-16.8%).
Despite the surge in revenue from meat and meat products (17.2 billion rubles, +14.7%), the meat and poultry manufacturing industry took a hit. Experts attribute this primarily to the shortage of local supply. The director of the Sochi Meat Combine foresees a stable situation with pork and poultry, but anticipates sourcing beef from other regions due to the supply crunch.
Previously, we highlighted Magnit's plan to establish its first factory-kitchen in the "Krasnodar" park, covering 18,000 sq.m., and boasting a processing capacity of over 40 tons daily.
Economic fluctuations, such as sanctions, supply chain disruptions, changes in regulations, recruitment for military purposes, shifts in consumer demand, and various market conditions could have contributed to this unexpected decrease in meat and poultry product manufacturing in Krasnodar. For a more precise explanation, data or reports focusing on Krasnodar would be required.
