L 3040 Renovation in Hessen: Eastern Section Next, Traffic Disruptions Expected
The renovation of L 3040 in Hessen, connecting Rüsselsheim and Königstädten, is underway. The project, overseen by Hessen Mobil, involves a complete overhaul of the roadway and pedestrian/cycle paths, with a total cost of approximately 3.4 million euros, mostly funded by the state. The first section is nearing completion, paving the way for work on the eastern side to begin.
During the eastern section's construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane and rerouted via a median crossover. Vehicles will be shifted to the west side of the roadway. The eastern bus stop and crossings at Bensheimer Straße and Hyundai-Platz will be barrier-free and renovated, with temporary closures of their entrances. Commuters should expect detours via Astheimer Straße or Bensheimer Straße during closures. The new roadway in the direction of Königstädten is expected to be completed by mid-May.
For the most up-to-date information, residents are advised to contact Hessen Mobil or the local city halls of Rüsselsheim and Königstädten.
The L 3040 renovation project is progressing, with the eastern section set to begin soon. Traffic disruptions are expected, but the state-funded project aims to improve the roadway and pedestrian/cycle paths, enhancing safety and accessibility for all users.
