Last chance to submit entries for this year's Architecture Competition
The Building Awards, a prestigious event recognising outstanding achievements in the construction sector, is set to return in 2025. Established 30 years ago by Building Magazine, a leading UK construction publication, this year's event promises to be as exciting as ever.
For those eager to participate, the criteria for entry and application process have been announced. Eligible buildings must have an active BOMA 360 designation valid through June 29, 2025, and must have won at the local level to advance to the regional and international levels. Each building may enter only one category, and energy performance information is mandatory, even for buildings not ENERGY STAR rated.
The application process involves submitting a detailed portfolio, including an ENERGY STAR statement, and completing required forms. Entrants must also be members in good standing with both the local BOMA association and BOMA International, with membership fees paid prior to entry. All entries and fees must be submitted before the region’s submission deadline, which varies locally.
The application process also includes a building inspection, with entries needing to score at least 70% to be eligible. The signed TOBY Building Inspection Verification form must be uploaded at the regional and international levels.
This year's judging panel consists of 32 industry experts, including names such as Gauri Talathis-Lamb, CEO of FHP Group LLP, Flan MacNamara, construction director at Sellar, and Anna Clarke, director of policy and public affairs at Housing Forum. Peter Bill, an author and journalist, and Dr Bola Abisogun OBE, founder of Digital Twin Skills Academy CIC, are also among the esteemed panel.
The event boasts 20 categories, and the deadline for submitting entry applications is Friday 30 May 2025. Last-minute entries can still be submitted, as the deadline for these is tomorrow, 30 May 2025.
The 2025 Building Awards is supported by seven leading organisations: Build UK, Clement Windows Group, Climate Group, DGP, Fenwick Elliott, The Housing Forum, and UKGBC. The event is scheduled to take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on 4 November.
Last year's winners included UCL Marshgate for Building Magazine Project of the Year and Dan Labbad for CEO of the Year. With such high standards set, this year's competition is sure to be fierce. So, don't miss your chance to shine in the construction sector – submit your application today!
The finance department of each applicant must ensure the submission of the required membership fees for both the local BOMA association and BOMA International before the entry period. Participants in the 2025 Building Awards should note that winners from the local level are eligible to compete in the regional and international categories, each vying for recognition in the housing policy and finance sector.
