Leapmotor Aims High with 500,000 Vehicle Sales Target for 2025

Leapmotor, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has set its sights on a significant milestone. The company aims to sell between 500,000 and 600,000 vehicles in 2025, as announced by its founder, chairman, and CEO Zhu Jiangming on March 11 [1].

By the first half of 2025, Leapmotor has already delivered 221,664 vehicles, achieving about 44.33% of its full-year target [1][2][3]. This marks a significant increase compared to previous years, with a year-on-year delivery growth of 156% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period before [4].

Record-Breaking Sales

Performance highlights include a record-breaking month in July 2025, where Leapmotor sold 50,129 vehicles, marking the first time surpassing 50,000 units in a single month [2]. This represents a 126% year-over-year increase compared to July 2024. In June 2025, the company delivered about 48,000 vehicles, leading competitors such as Li Auto by a wide margin and ranking first for four consecutive months [4].

Financial Growth and Innovation

Leapmotor has shown robust financial growth, with a 92% increase in revenue for 2024 and a 187.1% increase in Q1 2025. Additionally, the company's gross profit margin improved from 8.4% in 2024 to 14.9% in Q1 2025 [1][3]. Despite reporting a net loss in Q1 2025, the loss narrowed significantly from the prior year, supported by increased R&D spending focused on intelligent driving technologies [1][3].

Affordable and Practical EVs

Leapmotor's strategy emphasizes extended-range electric vehicles that appeal to practical and cost-conscious buyers. This approach has helped the company gain market share ahead of established competitors. A prime example of this strategy is the B01 electric sedan, which was launched on July 24 with a starting price of RMB 89,800 ($12,460) [6]. Within 72 hours of its launch, the B01 received 10,132 pre-orders [7].

As of the end of July 2023, Leapmotor had accumulated total deliveries of 871,341 vehicles since its establishment [8]. With its strong performance, innovative approach, and commitment to affordable and practical EVs, Leapmotor is well-positioned to meet its ambitious sales target for 2025.
