YAKUTIA.INFO. today, the renowned ice crossing "s. Khatasсы - s. Pavlovsk" across the Lena River, linking Yakutsk city and the Megino-Kangalassky District, has kicked off its seasonal operation. The ice's firmness guarantees safe passage for vehicles carrying up to 3 tons.
Joining the ice crossing parade, the Amga River crossing in the Amginsky District also commenced operations.
In Yakutia's arsenal, nine ice crossings grace the landscape:
- Momsky District welcomes the ice crossing "p. Khonuu - s. Buor-Sysys" across the Indigirka River, accommodating loads of up to 3 tons.
- Zhigansky District witnesses the functioning ice crossing "p. Zhigansk - Airport" across the Strekalovka River, catering to vehicles with a maximum load of 5 tons.

Mayya Alekseeva, head of the department for water safety at the GU MCHS of Russia in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), urged the public to adhere strictly to safety guidelines and utilize only the equipped crossings and signage. Violating such rules may result in administrative penalties, ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles for individuals, 20,000 to 50,000 rubles for officials, and 100,000 to 1,000,000 rubles for legal entities.
