Limited Brands Reports Strong 2011 Profit Growth

Limited Brands, the American retail giant, has reported a significant surge in profits and revenues for the first nine months of 2011. The company's net profit climbed by 39.2% to $490.6 million (€363.5 million), while revenues increased by 11.2% to $6,848.5 million (€5,074.5 million) compared to the same period in 2010.

The company's extensive retail network contributed to this growth. Limited Brands operates 2,628 stores in the U.S. and has a presence in 600 stores worldwide through franchises and partnerships. This global reach includes countries like Canada, the UK, China, Mexico, and various Middle Eastern markets. The company's diverse portfolio of brands, which includes Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, La Senza, and Henri Bendel, has also driven its success.

Victoria's Secret, the company's flagship brand, continues to be a major revenue driver. Its popular lingerie and beauty products cater to a wide range of customers. Bath & Body Works, known for its fragrances and personal care products, also contributes significantly to the company's bottom line. La Senza, a Canadian lingerie retailer acquired by Limited Brands in 2007, has expanded the company's reach into new markets. Henri Bendel, a luxury goods retailer, was previously owned by Limited Brands but was sold in 2019.

Limited Brands' strong performance in the first nine months of 2011 reflects the company's ability to adapt to changing market conditions and maintain growth. Its diverse brand portfolio and extensive retail network have proven to be resilient and profitable. As the company continues to expand globally, it will be interesting to see how these trends develop.
