Long-Time Huawei Exec Xu Zhijun Steps Down From HiSilicon Roles
Xu Zhijun, a long-time executive at Huawei, has stepped down from his roles as Legal Representative and Chairman of HiSilicon Semiconductor. Despite this, he continues to serve as Deputy Chairman of Huawei. His resignation may signal internal management adjustments within the company.
Xu Zhijun, who joined Huawei in 1993, has held various leadership positions within the company. His most recent departure was from HiSilicon Semiconductor, a wholly-owned subsidiary focusing on semiconductor design and development. Founded in 2004, HiSilicon is headquartered in Shenzhen with branches across major cities in China.
Gao Ji, the current CEO of HiSilicon, has taken over as the new Legal Representative and Chairman, succeeding Xu Zhijun. Meanwhile, Xu continues to serve as Vice Chairman and Rotating Chairman of Huawei, indicating that he remains a key figure in the company's leadership.
Xu Zhijun's resignation from HiSilicon Semiconductor may reflect a shift in management responsibilities within Huawei. Despite this change, he continues to hold a prominent position within the company. The appointment of Gao Ji as the new Legal Representative and Chairman of HiSilicon suggests a smooth transition in leadership at the subsidiary.
