Mainz-Gonsenheim experiences a water pipe break, resulting in a blockage

The city of Mainz has announced a temporary closure of Chapels Street in Mainz-Gonsenheim, between Lenneberg Street and Finther Lane, due to a water pipe burst that occurred near the "Chapels Street Health Center" bus stop. The closure, which began on August 12, will remain in effect until August 22.

Due to the closure, the bus stop for line 68 has been temporarily relocated to ensure the safety of passengers and workers. The city has put up signposts to guide motorists through a detour, directing them to take an alternate route.

Despite the closure, pedestrians and cyclists can still pass through the affected area. The city encourages residents to plan their journeys accordingly and to check the Mainz Mobility website (https://www.mainz.de/verkehr) for more details.

The repair work is necessary to fix the burst pipe, restore proper water supply, and prevent further disruptions or hazards in the area. The city appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the residents during this time.

The city of Mainz made the announcement regarding the closure on August 12, around 11:45 AM. For more information, please visit the Mainz Mobility website.
